Property and Casualty Insurance Associate Attorney

A law firm in Atlanta is seeking a Property and Casualty Insurance Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation, with a demonstrated understanding of insurance coverage and carrier issues. Experience with bad faith insurance issues is preferred. The successful candidate must possess excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and the ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Federal clerkship or state appellate clerkship experience is a plus. Admission to practice in Georgia is preferred, but the firm is open to considering strong candidates seeking to relocate to Atlanta.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage and handle a caseload of property and casualty insurance coverage matters, including litigation and dispute resolution. • Analyze and interpret insurance policies and coverage issues to provide strategic legal advice to clients. • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs. • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal opinions and reports. • Represent clients in court and administrative proceedings, including presenting arguments and managing case procedures. • Develop and implement litigation strategies and case management plans. • Handle bad faith insurance issues when applicable and provide comprehensive legal counsel on related matters. • Collaborate with clients, internal teams, and external parties to ensure effective communication and case resolution. • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance law and industry trends.

Requirements: • 3-6 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation. • Demonstrated understanding of insurance coverage and carrier issues; experience with bad faith insurance issues is preferred. • Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated writing skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team. • Federal clerkship or state appellate clerkship experience is a plus. • Admission to practice in Georgia preferred; consideration will be given to strong candidates seeking to relocate to Atlanta.

Education:
• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Strong academic record with evidence of academic excellence.

Certifications:
• Admission to the Bar in Georgia is preferred, but strong candidates seeking relocation will be considered.
