The North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) is seeking an External Affairs Intern to provide support to the External Affairs organization on a variety of strategic projects, events and initiatives

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The External Affairs Intern will assist the NES team by managing programmatic opportunities through Network Engagement Services along with building relationships and engaging with NTFB’s Agency Partners.

Minimum Qualifications
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills for effective communication
• Able to work independently in a variety of environments
• Comfortable interacting and collaborating with diverse populations
• Willingness to learn and take on new projects, meet deadlines, and take initiative
• Experience with data analytics, problem-solving, and staying organized
• Detail-oriented, problem solver who can deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment
• Able to juggle competing priorities and projects at the same time

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
• Provide support to departments within NTFB External Affairs including but not limited to Foundation Giving & Strategic Initiatives, Marketing & Communications, and Philanthropy.
• Assist with the planning and execution of key Summer events Camp ExA and Kids Camp
• Support the coordination of the annual Agency Partner Summit
• Work with the NES team to plan, organize, and coordinate virtual and in-person opportunities, events, and campaigns that promote NTFB’s partnerships,
• Be flexible to perform certain tasks assigned outside of job description

• The person in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors, such as customer service complaints, compliance offenses, and competing priorities of reasonable or high significance to the successful function of the unit.

Physical Demands
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

Environmental Factors
• Light travel required within NTFB’s 12-county service area and between our offices in Dallas and Perot Family Campus in Plano
• May require work outside of traditional business hours (evening/weekend)
• Moderate noise (i.e. business office with open floor plan with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic).
