About the position

The Senior Patient Access Center Advocate at Evernorth Care Group plays a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences by providing professional and courteous assistance to customers. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary care team and involves managing patient calls, scheduling appointments, verifying coverage, and ensuring timely access to care under the supervision of healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
• Schedule appointments accurately and meet patient needs by determining the best scheduling solution.

• Verify patient coverage and eligibility, complete necessary paperwork, and assist with MyChart portal questions.
,
• Answer telephone calls in compliance with departmental procedures and quality metrics, determining the nature of the call and routing it appropriately.
,
• Document all outreach attempts and conversations clearly and comprehensively in the Electronic Health Record.

Requirements
• High school degree or equivalent related experience required.
,
• One year plus of customer service experience and proficiency in PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
,
• One year plus of customer service experience in healthcare, including typing and scheduling application experience (EHR/EMR).
,
• Ability to convey information to customers in a warm, clear, and concise manner.
,
• Demonstrates positive customer service behaviors.

Nice-to-haves
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
